July 6, 1999 - Sakha Saga, Part Fourteen
Dear Ones -
Another beautiful day in Siberia! I thought that Dakota springs were fast and furious...but it doesn't compare with the intensity of beauty and life building to a rapid crescendo here! It appears that the development of the Faith here - the advent of the Divine Springtime - will replicate the material spring!
This is also scheduled to be my last day here. Yesterday I got my wish and was able to do 2 performances! At 2:00 we went back to the Canadian school to find that the regular session was out and that the facility was in use for a summer school for gifted kids. We did a well received program there in which we were able to speak openly and directly about Baha'u'llah and the significance of this Day to a most receptive group of 10 -16 year old youth and staff. We stayed afterwards to visit some of the staff. Natasha and Golzada had told me earlier that they were going to try to arrange another program for that evening, but being that I'm deaf and dumb I had no idea that I was to be in charge of getting to places on time. By the time we caught the much delayed bus back to the Baha'i Center we were already much more than an hour late for our next program! Poor Natasha had arranged for her family to be there and there was a group of over 100 summer school youth waiting. A few of the adults were bent out of shape but the youth were so enthused and eager to participate. The great thing about this day's performances was that I didn't have a straightjacket time schedule and was able to slow down and do some of my interactive stuff like teach sign language and songs and to do participatory dancing. It seems just as I'm about to leave we've found the perfect venue for what I do best: summer schools! Natasha said that when she was translating that she wasn't the one that was speaking but that it was a voice from above that was speaking through her and that in all her many years of translating this was the first such experience! I feel that everything is building to a glorious crescendo and that the summer school will launch the Sakha Baha'i community to a higher plateau of divine confirmation and activity! I just wish that I had pictures of all the radiant faces to show you all, but the river took them. So you'll just have to take my word for it. Today we may have another school program at the school in Hatassi. Golzada will call to confirm soon. I'll try to make time to update you all, but if I don't, much love to you all and see you soon!
Love,
Kevin
