Doug Foote dances for the call of the dance. His Lakota tribal name is Wiyaka Waste (pronounced Wee-ah-kah Wash-tay), translated as “Good Feather,” or “Beautiful Feather.” Doug was raised on Standing Rock Indian Reservation, home to Sitting Bull. Doug is a fluent speaker of the Lakota language, a champion Fancy Dancer and master Native singer.
